To ensure the continuation of this tradition is smooth and safe, here is how to enjoy Loy Krathong without accidents.

How to Avoid Accidents on Loy Krathong Night 

• Do not set off fireworks, sparklers, or sky lanterns in prohibited areas : This can cause disturbance to people and potentially lead to fires.
• Float Krathongs in Safe Locations : Choose locations without the risk of falling into the water, such as strong piers with barriers or handrails, or stable pontoons. Maintain distance when floating Krathongs.
• Beware of Pickpockets/Thieves : On festival days with many people attending, there might be criminals hiding among the crowd. Therefore, you should remain vigilant at all times.
• Beware of Sexual Assault : Due to the event being held at night and the consumption of alcohol, you should be careful not to drink alcohol, as it is a major contributing factor to sexual assault.
• Do not let children float Krathongs alone : Closely supervise children when taking them to the Loy Krathong event. Do not let children out of sight, as bad things can happen in an instant.
• Beware of Getting Lost : Supervise children closely and consider writing their name, surname, contact number, or contact location on a piece of paper and placing it in the child's pocket or having them carry it.
